Experiment Results: 

I am testing the amount of phosphorus in the Macatawa river and seeing if the levels could change due to the change in temperature as the year progresses. This week the water temperature was 21 degrees Celsius(69.8 degrees Fahrenheit). I tested the water three times for Phosphorus and each test showed the highest level of Phosphorus, 4ppm.

Climate: slight breeze, cloudy, rained on and off all day,  

thunderstorm the previous night

Observations:  

Felt: Wet bark on the trees, very muddy (it had just rained) 

Saw: A black squirrel climb up a tree, poison ivy, branches and trees on the ground 

Heard: Cicadas, birds 

Changes: A lot more leaves on the ground and the leaves still on the trees are starting to change colors. It had also rained the previous night and there were huge branches from the willow tree down.  

Question: How are different ecosystems affected in the fall from the falling of the leaves  and the change of temperature?
